Fear is just a feeling

Fear is just a feeling!

And here’s the good news! Fear is just a feeling and feelings can be changed.

Fear is something we all experience, and when I work with clients, it often turns out that fear is at the root of many challenges. It’s fascinating how, beneath the surface, fear can shape our decisions and hold us back. Does any of this sound familiar?

  • I can’t….
  • I’m not good enough….
  • What if they think I’m….
  • I’ll be found out (Imposter Syndrome)
  • I don’t have time
  • I don’t have money
  • I’m too old/young
  • I’m too loud, shy
  • I don’t have a degree
  • I’ll probably fail
  • What if I succeed and can’t cope with the pressure

And the list goes on.

Here’s the truth!

Fear is Totally Normal

Let’s face it: fear is part of being human. Instead of letting it stop us, we can see it as a sign that we’re pushing our boundaries. GET UNCOMFORTABLE!

Susan Jeffers, in her book “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway,” reminds us that it’s okay to feel scared. The magic happens when we acknowledge that fear and still take action!

Acknowledge and Act

Do as Nike says, “Just do it!”

The trick is to recognise our fears without letting them paralyse us. When we feel the fear and choose to move forward, we align ourselves with what we’re truly meant to do. Fear doesn’t have to define us; it can actually fuel us. So, get in the car and drive.
